This is a decal everyone wanted from San Fernando Drag Strip with the red Trophy Winner in
the center of the decal. I sent this so any of the Van Nuys cruisers can have one. Put the right contact paper in your printer
and you can print one out and use it for a decal, or print it on photo paper and cut it out to put by your old photo's
etc. Great to see my old pictures on your site. Thanks Larry O'Connell Member of Noblemen Car Club of Van

My 1956 Ford with 292 cu in engine, three speed auto trans and 4.11 gears. . Cruised Van Nuys Blvd from 1959 to 1960, pictures taken in the same period. Raced the car at San Fernando Drag Strip
in 1959 at age 15, I was so excited to be racing. The car was not so excited as it went 17 seconds ET at 77 mph. After changing
to the 4.11's from the 3.00 gears it went into the 16's ET at 80 mph. Bill Wolter a good friend of mine did all the body work nosing and decking the car as well as removing
all the emblems. Larry O'Connell

From 1979. All shined up and ready to cruise! 1969 El Camino With a 350. My neighbors hated that car because
their TVs would lose their reception when I got within a few houses away. Dave Bigbee

This was my 1970 VW bug. Not a hot rod but it spent many hours cruising Van Nuys Blvd. with
my friends and I. The crunched fender was a Van Nuys Blvd. "ouchie"! Thanks for the opportunity to share! Patti Hipps

The 1961 Starliner belonged to a good friend Gaylen Gallion, Gay was killed in Viet Nam in
1969 with the Marines. Gay's Starliner had the 300 HP 390 engine, one weekend he borrowed his cousins 375 HP HiPo version
of Fords 390. He pulled his engine, installed the 375 HP engine raced it at San Fernando Drag Strip; came home and re-installed
his engine. I am still in shock after all these years that he would do this. Great guy, still miss him. Larry O'Connell Member of Noblemen Car Club of Van

'50 Merc with Mike Beggs and two cousins, each
side. Blew up '53 Cad engine & later installed '57 Cad. Moved to Van Nuys in 1963. Lots of VN cruising,
won some races and eventually earned a weekend in the Los Angeles Graybar Hotel. decided it was time to cool it, pulled the
engine and sent the rest to Valley salvage yard. Wish I kept this one. ('64 San Fernando Raceway, 85 mph/
